Welcome to the Fitchburg Days 2012 website!

We're working on putting together another fantastic, jam-packed Fitchburg Days. On Friday, there will be the Trinity Irish Dancers followed by The Kissers. At 9:00 the skies will light up with fireworks by Krueger Pyrotechnics, followed by a rompin' good time with Pat McCurdy. On Saturday we will feature the first annual Fitchburg Fire Department
vs. Fitchburg Police Dapartment softball game,including fun inning
activities. Saturday night features music by The Jimmys and LUBE. The music continues on Sunday with Kyle Henderson"s Blue Eyed Soul from 2 to 5. All three days feature thrilling carnival rides, a children's tent with tons of fun activities for kids of all ages and food by many local vendors. We can't do this without the help of volunteers. Our volunteer site is up and running now, so click on the link to the right to spend a little time volunteering and a lot of time having fun. We're also working hard for sponsors to make this the best Fitchburg Days ever!

Friday - 2012- Fireworks, Carnival, Food, Irish Entertainment, Children's Tent

Friday will be a day of celebrating our Irish heritage with many favorite local musicians sharing their talent and love of Irish music. The afternoon starts with the Trinity Irish Dancers, followed by The Kissers . At 9, there will be the annual Fitchburg Days Fireworks Show – a powerful presentation that will be seen and heard throughout the city. Ending the night with a wild BANG! will be Wisconsin’s own Pat McCurdy who will be on the main stage from 9:30 to midnight. Don't forget, all three days will feature carnival rides,fantastic food and music in the entertainment tent.
The Children's Tent theme will be Family Fun Night. Activities run from 4pm to 8pm and include a reading corner, helium balloons, arts and crafts, children's games and face painting.

Saturday - 2012- Carnival, Food, Henry Vilas Zoo, Music, Children's Tent

The fun continues with the carnival rides, fantastic food and music in the entertainment tent.
The music on hand this year is sure to delight! At 4:30 we'll feature The Jimmys - a rockin' 8-piece blues band. At 8pm we'll feature LUBE a 5-piece classic and original rock band that's sure to keep you dancin' all night!

Staff from the Henry Vilas Zoo Education Pavilion will be on hand from noon to 5pm. Activities will include a tattoo station, trading cards and an assortment of animals throughout the day. Don't miss it!

Starting at 3pm we will feature the first ever (we hope to be annual) Fitchburg Fire Department vs. Fitchburg Police Department Slow Pitch Softball game. We're planning a host of fun activities as "inning stretchers" throughout the game. Come join us for this family fun event!

The Children's Tent theme will be Children of the World. Activities run from 12pm to 4pm and include a reading corner, arts and crafts, children's games, and face painting.

Sunday - 2012 - Carnival, Food, Music, Children's Tent

The fun continues with the carnival rides and fantastic food in the entertainment tent. Sunday is Handstamp Day at the carnival - unlimited rides for just $20!
At noon, come visit us to see the amazing farm animals featured by the Heartland Farm Sanctuary . See, touch, hear and smell farm animals up close!
At 2 pm the main tent will feature Kyle Henderson's Blue Eyed Soul Band. offered without a cover charge! Don't miss it!

The Children's Tent theme will be Fiesta!. Activities run from 12pm to 4pm and include a reading corner, face painting, arts and crafts, and children's games.

Food

In the past year we have had the tremendous growth of fine restaurants in our community. Fitchburg Days will highlight these restaurants and their cuisine at our three day festival along with our non profit organizations and churches.

Children's Activities

All weekend long, enjoy various activities in the Children's Tent throughout the weekend, that will keep the kids entertained for hours. Free face painting and balloon animals at various times as well!

The Kissers

The Kissers are American bred, but you’d never know it to hear them. This cover band plays a brand of Celtic rock that will get your fist a shakin’ and feet a stompin’ while you down a few pints. Founded by bassist/vocalist Ken Fitzsimmons, the Kissers unify Irish traditionalism with American roots music and a pinch of British punk. The Madison, Wisconsin based quintet burst onto the scene in 2003. Don't miss even a minute of this music!

Pat McCurdy

Wisconsin's own Pat McCurdy is a musician who hails from Milwaukee and is finding a small but growing cult following across the country. He writes all his own songs, in a variety of styles. One person has said that it is "good drinking music." It's really kind of hard to pin down; if you have a good description, let him know. His main appeal is to the college crowd, but it is not unusual to see others not fitting this stereotype enjoying his music.
In addition to playing in Milwaukee, he regularly plays all over Wisconsin, as well as northern Illinois (mainly Chicago) and Minneapolis. Sometimes he takes roadtrips to other parts of the country; the next time he does, we'll tell you.

Come join for what (we hope) will be an annual event. Watch the Fire Department pitted against the Police Department as they slug it out to be the "top dog". There will be exiting between inning activites for the entire family. Don't miss out!

The Jimmys

"The Jimmys are a powerhouse, eight piece band influenced by raw Chicago Blues to second line New Orleans funk. With touring experience throughout the U.S. and Europe, The Jimmys have amassed international acclaim. Members of this band have garnered Wisconsin's top honors in Blues to Grammy recognition to platinum records! "Guaranteed to make you shake a tail feather!"

LUBE

LUBE is a five-piece band based out of Madison, Wisconsin that plays current, classic and original rock. Lube formed in the summer of 1999 originally as a basement band. Over the last nine years Lube has moved from the basement to playing South-Central Wisconsin's top clubs and festivals.
Lube's live shows are a high energy affair designed to get people moving. They keep the music flowing constantly, barely coming up for air, keeping the in-between-song banter to a minimum and letting the music do the talking!

The Children's Tent features Children of the World. Activities run from 12pm to 4pm and include a reading corner,arts and crafts, children's games, and face painting. From 12:30 to 2:30 you just can't miss the Las Divinas Children's Show. And then you have to stick around for the Create and Recyle event from 2:30 to 4! Your kids will be thrilled with all the excitement we have in store for them!
